As I begin my third full season in the sport of triathlon, I realize that I won't be going pro in this sport. What began as an experiment has become an unbelievable journey to see just how far I can push myself. In my first season, I focused mainly on the smaller sprint races (1/3 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) and now use the shorter races as prep for the Olympic Distance (.92 mile swim, 24 mile bike, 6 mile run). I have learned how to run and swim more efficient and this season I plan on focusing on the nutritional side of the sport. I would like to put it all together and work my way up to an Ironman.
Post Holiday Weight is not coming back off as fast as I had planned. Over the holidays, I kept telling myself that it's okay to eat this or drink that because I will be training like a beast after January. Not Quite. I had bulked up 15lbs over my racing weight. Now I am working out twice a day to get the weight off . I will keep this situation in mind going into next season.
